UCL Geohazards
Lecturing on meteorological hazards in the MSc on geohazards
Catastrophe modelling has been limited in its uptake due to its private market deployment. A large number of people are working hard to connect the dots with experts in academia to help drive forward related research. Tom has accepted a position in UCL’s world renowned Earth Sciences department, and will lecture on their Meteorological Hazards course as part of the MSc in Geohazards, and the Postgraduate Certificate in Natural Hazards For Insurers. Lectures will range from an introduction to the Atmosphere, its structures and Oscillations, to the ingredients of individual atmospheric perils, and how they are represented in risk modelling.
